Established in 1968, we are the Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we empower each of our 92 SWCDs to address local natural resource concerns through providing legislative advocacy, especially Clean Water Indiana funding; programs and staffing to support farmers and foresters at all scales; and resources to help SWCDs connect, grow, and advance their effectiveness.
We are governed by a democratic representation of Region Directors elected from each of eight counties throughout the state, plus an executive Board. We are a leadership member of the Indiana Conservation Partnership, a Gold-level member of the National Association of Conservation Districts, and highly engaged in state-level resource conservation work.
Find your local SWCD here for technical assistance, questions about local resource concerns, or to learn more about how your SWCD serves your community.
