Advocacy

SWCDs are the foundation of conservation delivery systems in Indiana and across the USA. These locally-led, locally-staffed agencies develop the relationships necessary to get conservation on the ground: keeping our soil here in Indiana, improving our water quality, and increasing biodiversity to our life-giving ecosystems.

SWCDs are part of Indiana code. We rely on our legislators and agency partners to provide the funding and pathways necessary to do what we do best: getting conservation on the ground.

IASWCD and our member Districts have leveraged millions (and counting!) in local, state, and federal investments to deliver conservation to our local communities. Our programs provide outreach and assistance to farmers, foresters, livestock producers, and market growers of all sizes.
