The statewide IASWCD conference organized for Indiana’s 92 Soil and Water Conservation Districts offers a chance for professionals, researchers, academics, industry leaders, farmers, and other stakeholders in natural resource protection to come together.
The conference includes an exhibit area with vendor booth space where organizations present their products, services, and initiatives. Networking opportunities, workshops, and training sessions are available to promote education and exchange ideas.

SWCD Supervisor Scholarships
2027 Scholarship Guidelines
Scholarships are available for SWCD Supervisors (not Associates) whose District’s budget restrictions will not permit them to attend the IASWCD Conference. Depending on available funds, the IASWCD will award scholarships. Only one application per District will be accepted for consideration each year. (Note: Current IASWCD Board Members are not eligible for this scholarship.)
The IASWCD requires that each District who receives a scholarship have a Delegate in attendance at the Business Meeting at The Westin Indianapolis on January 26, 2027.
Scholarship funds will be applied to full or partial conference registration fees and hotel accommodations for the duration of the time at the conference (one to two nights). Applicants must specifically request a FULL or PARTIAL scholarship. Scholarships will not cover any additional costs, such as travel and parking. Scholarship recipients cannot request reimbursement from Clean Water Indiana training reimbursement funds* for the expenses already covered by these scholarship funds.
Application deadline is 5:00 pm (Eastern) on November 6.
A follow-up letter to scholarship recipients will explain the Conference registration process.
Scholarships are non-transferable.
Scholarship recipients must notify the IASWCD Executive Director if they are unable to attend the conference, in part or in whole, by December 15, 2026 in order to avoid being billed for the cost of registration fees.

- Details about how receiving this scholarship will benefit you, the supervisor, and your local SWCD
- Explanation of District financial need
*SWCD Training Reimbursement: Clean Water Indiana provides up to $2,000 per SWCD for eligible training expenses during the current fiscal year, including the IASWCD Conference. CWI training funds cannot be combined with a Supervisor Scholarship for the same conference registration. For more information regarding CWI training reimbursements, please contact your Indiana State Department of Agriculture District Support Specialist.
Hotel
Conference accommodations will be available at the conference location in The Westin, downtown Indianapolis. Conference room rate: $154 + fees and taxes (17%). Note: tax exemption on the room rates is no longer available in Indiana.
We anticipate that rooms will sell out this year, so we strongly advise you to reserve your rooms early when the hotel link becomes available (late summer/early fall).

IASWCD Business Meeting

Register your SWCD Delegates
Due Date: Friday, January 15, 2027
Each Soil and Water Conservation District in good standing (fully paid annual dues) with the Indiana Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts, Inc. will have the opportunity to have one SWCD Supervisor delegate participate in the IASWCD Annual Business Meeting. The vote of the District will be cast by the delegate or an alternate. One delegate and an alternate shall be selected by each District before the date of any Association meeting and their names shall be submitted to the Association electronically no fewer than ten days prior to the meeting. All such delegates and alternates shall be officially elected and/or appointed supervisors or associate supervisors. The delegate and alternate shall be seated at any association meeting. (Please note: If the delegate only plans to attend the Business Meeting and not any of the IASWCD Conference, it is not necessary to register for the conference.)

Resolutions
Two resolutions have been submitted for vote at the 2027 IASWCD Business Meeting.
Indiana’s Soil & Water Conservation Districts can now review these resolutions during their board meetings prior to the business meeting.
Via Zoom, IASWCD will host a Resolutions Review Session to provide Indiana Soil and Water Conservation Districts an opportunity to gain clarification and ask questions regarding the submitted resolutions.
